My name is Felipe Esparza, I am a filmmaker and visual artist from Peru. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree at the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC) in Audiovisual Communication and courses in psychology. Then I did a Master's degree in contemporary Latin American photography at the Center of the Image in Lima. I lived and worked as an artist in residence with the artist Gaobo in Beijing and then I was selected as an artist in Le Fresnoy, a National Studio of Contemporary Arts in France. 

My work has participated in Biennials and festivals in different parts of the world such as Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin - New Cinema and Contemporary Art, Triennial Guangzhou Image (China), Shangyuang Museum of Contemporary Art (Beijing), Videobrasil Biennale (Sao Paulo), Los Angeles Film Forum, Buenos Aires Video Art Festival, Berlinale Talent Campus, Rotterdam International Film Festival, among others. My work is focused on religious beliefs, spirituality and post-colonial symbolic syncretism.

I have a graphic and web design studio called Milk, I like to travel, ceviche and play soccer. I live with my partner Kendra McLaughlin, a fellow resident tutor, and our cat called Proserpine.
