My name is Katherine Nabel Smith, and I am a 4^th year medical student/7^th year MD-PhD student at Harvard Medical School. I was born in Ann Arbor, MI and grew up in Washington, DC. I majored in Biology at Stanford University and worked as a virology research associate in San Francisco after graduating. I matriculated to the Harvard/MIT MD-PhD Program and Health Sciences and Technology (HST) Program in 2017. I pursued my PhD in Virology in Dr. Jonathan Abraham’s lab investigating viral entry mechanisms of emerging RNA viruses and their structural interaction with broadly neutralizing antibodies. I graduated from my PhD in 2022 and am now entering my last year of medical school. Outside of medical school and the lab, I enjoy traveling, golfing, cycling, and trying new restaurants in Boston!
