Hi Leverett House! I am a fourth-year PhD student in Slavic Literatures and Languages with a secondary field in Film and Visual Studies (FVS). My research interests are wide (maybe too wide) and adamantly interdisciplinary, entailing such things as animals in film, the making and uses of cinematic space, cinema as a multi-sensory experience, and film consumerism, especially in a Russian and Soviet context. I grew up in a small beach town in New Jersey, so I also love kitsch, the ocean, and Springsteen. As a student, I graduated from Haverford College in Pennsylvania, spent many summers at Middlebury College’s Russian Language School in Vermont, and moved back-and-forth to Russia a few times. I’m a liberal arts student through-and-through, and I hope to channel this passion for the humanities into all the work that I do at Leverett. Thrilled to be a tutor.
